Tour in Rainy Bali
It was heavily rain when we started the tour from Tuban, south Bali. We still decided continue the trip as we planned anyway. On the way some small flood slow down the traffic.
We finally arrived at our first destination, Taman Ayun temple in Mengwi. Still pouring rain. With our big umbrellas we went to this temple that just recently proposed to the United Nation to be World Heritage Site. Under the rain we still able to see what ever we need to see as well as taking some pictures. We then proceed to the hillside of Bedugul and make a shopping stop at Candi Kuning, the fruit and flower market. Still pouring rain until we left the place for Bratan Lake Temple.
It was crowded when we arrived in Bratan Lake. There were many different groups of Balinese people doing ceremonies. Some doing ceremony to get the holly water. While others doing nyegara gunung ceremonies. Ceremony held to thanks the God of this temple for the blessing given during their ceremony in their respective village temples. There was also one big sacrification ceremony attended by one of regency leader in Bali. They sacrificed some animals into the lake to wish a sustain availability of water.
We had our lunch at the local restaurant nearby the lake. We had Ayam Taliwang, grill chicken with distinctive spicy sauce from Lombok Island. My Korean client like the sauce but they find the free range chicken were too small in size.
After finishing local meal, we drive up to Wana Giri to see the nice view overlooking the Lake Tamblingan and Buyan. There was no rain at all here, even we saw sun shining and a little blue sky.
It was start raining again when we drive down to Tanah Lot. Judging the heavy cloud on the sky, we did not stay for sunset. Instead we head back to Kuta to do some shopping then have nasi campur dinner in popular local warung outside Kuta.
After dinner I took my client to Cozy to have cheap but good signature massage. Relaxing end for a rainy day.
Been working as a Bali tour guide and driver for over 15 years. Still very much enjoy my work as I meet many different and interesting people. Things on the road are changing all the time and I would like to share some of those that I show. ------
Taking pictures have been a hobby for me for many years. Now, I am still struggling to make that a hobby as a job. Wish me luck please.
